Playing with colour is something we LOVE to do! This past weekend, I was inspired by a gorgeous tea cup (see below) to explore yellow decor trends. What I found was that this hue can be truly beautiful in any space, but it is a bit tricky to integrate - you really need to pair the right shade of yellow with your furniture to achieve a successful look. For instance, a bright shade of yellow is works well with brillant blues whereas if you have wood accents you will want to go for a more muted shade so everything blends perfectly. One of my favourite things about yellow is that it really does brighten a room, and therefore your mood! So, if there is a room or work area you spend time a lot of time in, consider including something yellow in the space to keep your spirits high. Even if it’s just a picture frame, your subconscious will always have a smile on :)
Here are a few ways you can style any space with yellow.
Add some romance in your bedroom with a deep mustard yellow shade. An easy way is to purchase a new set of bed sheets or reupholster your headboard. You can also bring in other shades such as gold and brown to compliment the tone.

I absolutely love how simple this can be. Line the back of a bookshelf with yellow printed and patterned wallpaper and voila, you have a new storage piece! Placed in the kitchen, library, office or bedroom, the shelves shares a hint of style while keeping things organized, and looking beautiful.

We all love a beautiful accent wall. Whether you use flat paint or a designed wallpaper, splashing yellow on one wall makes a beautiful and warm statement.
